Ans: Mr. Lamb saw Derry and spoke to him politely. But Derry was started. He explained that his intention was not to steal apple. Lamb tried to make Derry comfortable.  Ans: Derry made no friends. He avoids meeting people. He suffered from an inferiority complex. Because he had an ugly burnt face. He thought that people were afraid of his burnt face. 

      

     Lamb had a tin lag. He was happy in his garden house, one day he met Derry in his Garden

and tried to remove his fears. He told Derry to lead a happy life. He told Derry that he should not listen to what people said, about his burnt face. Then Lamb reminded him about the story of Beauty and Beast to make him forget his pain. He told Derry that he could not lock himself up in a room, then lamb narrated to him the story of a man who was afraid of everything in the world. so, that man went into his room, looked at the door and stayed there. A picture fell of the well onto his head and killed him. 

     Lamb said that he enjoyed life as it came. He sat in the sun and read books. He was not fond of curtains. He motivated Derry to live happily. He told Derry that he had got two arms, two legs, eyes and ears. Derry had a tongue and also a brain. He could get on the way he wanted Derry said that he hated some people then Lamb said that hatred is more harmful than a 

bottle of acid. Then Derry decided to come back to Lamb. Though both Lamb and Derry suffered 

from physical disability, their attitude to life was different. But Lamb’s meeting with Derry Became a turning point in Derry’s life.

Ans: Mr. Lamb was an old man. He had got a tin leg. The original leg was blown. The original leg was blown off in the war. He lived alone in his house with a garden outside. 

   He was a wise and hardworking man. He sat in the sun and read books. He was not fond of curtains. He didn’t like shunting thing out and shutting things in with curtain. He liked the light and also the darkness. He kept the windows open to hear the wind. He regarded every visitor as his friend. He kept the garden gate always open for visitors and welcomed them. They came and sat in his garden. In the winter season the visitors sat in front of the fire. Many children came in his garden for the apples, pears and toffee Mr. Lamb gave them toffee with honey. Mr. Lamb gave them toffee with honey Lamb enjoyed life as it came. He never got angry with his tin leg. He pulled the apples and Oranges with a ladder and a stick. He jellies with oranges and apples.

     He saw no difference between weeds and flowers in his garden. He thought that both were ports of life. He was interested in anything made by God. He met Derry in his garden. He tried to transform Derry’s attitude to life and became successful. Derry came back to Lamb, but he found Lamb dead.
